There is an excellent book written by one of the students of the Central High Incident of 1957. It’s called
“Warriers Don’t Cry” Melba Beale Patillo

My favorite Christopher Paul Curtis book was Bud, Not Buddy, One of my all time favorites. Another great one is Twenty-One Balloons by DuBois. Excellent.
